The Ministry of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, together with the USAID Energy Security Project, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at the restoration, reform, and development of energy and municipal infrastructure in communities, ensuring energy resilience. This includes, in particular, the development of distributed energy generation with integrated cogeneration, the use of renewable energy and biofuels, and the modernization of centralized heating systems, as reported by the Ministry of Development, according to \"Ukraine Communal.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the Energy Security Project, USAID will support the Ministry in reforming the centralized heating and energy sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will contribute to enhancing energy resilience by prioritizing energy infrastructure project concepts at the municipal level, aimed at economically justified and financially sustainable distributed energy generation with integrated cogeneration, as well as promoting the implementation of various energy sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, an important element is supporting the development of cogeneration, which will reduce the number of potential energy outages in emergency situations. It will also ensure the continuous supply of energy to critical infrastructure in communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Memorandum provides for both cooperation in meeting priority needs and assistance in strategic planning for the restoration and reform of energy and heating sectors. It also includes raising public awareness about the relevant reforms and legislation to be developed and implemented within the cooperation framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
