According to UkraineInvest, the goal of the event is to analyze the investment market in Ukraine, as well as current and future investment projects and successful business cases, reports Ukrinform.
Among other things, the forum will present the conclusions of an analytical report initiated by UkraineInvest with the support of UNDP and other reputable international organizations.
As noted, due to the full-scale military aggression, Ukraine has suffered significant economic and industrial decline. The country’s GDP decreased by almost 30%, and the share of manufacturing industry fell from 11% in 2021 to 7% in 2022. Although businesses show resilience in their operations, they suffer from restrictions on access to finance and technology.
“To revive the economy and industrial sector in Ukraine, immediate actions are needed, including impact investing (investments that affect certain social or environmental phenomena and improve social infrastructure) using blended financing, combining public, donor, and private capital, as well as mechanisms for insuring war and political risks,” the government office explains.
It is expected that these actions will help stimulate economic growth and attract international companies interested in entering the Ukrainian market.
Participants in the discussion will include the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov, UNDP Permanent Representative in Ukraine Yako Silye, Executive Director of UkraineInvest Serhiy Tsyvkach, and Minister of Finance in 2014-2016, Managing Director of EY-Parthenon Natalia Yaresko.
